River Division 595 was formed as early as april 1969. The division started out with eight (8) ASPBs and was assigned to River Patrol Flotilla 5, River Assault Squadron 59, as River Division 595. Areas of operations being in the 3rd and 4th corp areas in South Vietnam.The Division would be tranfsered the River Assault Squadron 15 in July 1969 and become River Division 153, The Delta Destroyers ,Call sign Farmdale. In December 1970 or early 1971 the boat were turned over to the VN Navy. ASPB 6854 was the first of the ASPBs to get the rocket pods on the front 20mm mount.

THE ASSAULT SUPPORT PATROL BOAT, (ASPB), or as we called them THE ALPHA BOATS.

This web page was put togeather by Robert (MACK) McDevitt BM3 ALPHA-6854 and ALPHA-6857 May1969 through June 1970. I then tranfered over to ComNavForv, Security Detachment June 1970 to Dec. 1970. Returning to Conus at that time.
